Keeping The Faith

Over the years I have listened to a lot of music and have been to even more concerts. I love all types of music. Rock, country, hip hop, you name it I listen to it. My favorite song though is Keep The Faith by Bon Jovi. The song is the title track off the band's 1992 album Keep The Faith. As I stated in my last post Bon Jovi was coming off a very long enduring tour in 1990. As a result of the tour the band almost broke up. They were sick of each other. However Jon Bon Jovi pulled the group together to settle their differences and promised them they could make it through this struggle. After this meeting the band went to work on their next studio album. Keep The Faith features all the band members hands on the cover in the signature "All For One, One For All" pose to signify that they had made it through their struggle. Bon Jovi was now ready to conquer the world.

The reason why Keep The Faith is my favorite song is because of the message. It says that when in life you have nowhere else to go as long as you "keep the faith" everything will be alright. As long as you have a positive outlook on life something good will eventually happen because you deserve it. This song has some great lyrics to it. All the lyrics in this song are true. Everybody's bitchin' cause they can't get enough says that people complain when things don't go their way. True statement. Everybody does that. Another one of my favorites is It's hard to hold on when there's no one to lean on. Another true statement. I've found in my personal experiences through life that it is so much easier to get through tough times when you're surrounded by people who really care about you. Friends, family it doesn't matter who. As long as you have at least ONE person that you know will always be there for you life is a lot easier. Not to say that without having this one person life is impossible but it definitely is harder.

This song also contains a life moral to live by. Keep The Faith cautions Don't let your love turn to hate. This is something I couldn't agree with more. I personally chose to live by this moral. It's plan and simple really. When you have an argument with somebody it's not worth the trouble to be mad at them forvever and to chose to hate them. This isn't necessarily saying you have to like the person again, it's just saying don't hate them. If you cling to hate it will literally rot you from the inside out and turn you into a completely different person. It's not worth it. We learn to solve and let go of our problems. I've made the promise to never let my love turn to hate. I'll always keep the faith.

Here's their perfromance of the song during their soldout shows at New Meadowlands Stadium. I really hope they have fireworks when I see them in May. That would be so sick.
